Carolina Iglesias, Esq. concentrates her practice on all aspects of family law and strives to provide her clients with a comprehensive view of their matter while also recognizing that her clients need a compassionate and personalized advocate. She is dedicated to tailoring her skill set in order to provide her clients with the creative solutions they deserve.
Prior to joining Smedley Law Group, P.C., Ms. Iglesias practiced family law at Domers, Bonamassa & Farrow, P.C. Before beginning her practice as an attorney, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael R. Ostrowski, Jr., J.S.C. in the Family Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Throughout her clerkship, she had the opportunity to do extensive research in matrimonial, custody, and domestic violence matters.
Ms. Iglesias graduated from Rutgers Law School with a Certificate of Family Law, which reflected a deep-rooted desire to specialize her practice in family law from early on in her career. As part of the Family Law Certificate program, she was exposed to a broad range of issues in family law and procedure.
During law school, Ms. Iglesias served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Kurt E. Kramer, J.S.C. in the Family Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey. She also had the opportunity to serve as a student attorney in the Domestic Violence Clinic where she exhibited a zealous advocacy for her clients.
Additionally, Ms. Iglesias received the Herman J. Finn Award in Professional Responsibility, an award presented to a graduating law student who demonstrated a superior commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.
Ms. Iglesias is excited to represent clients in all matters related to child custody, child support, and divorce, among other family law matters, in both English and Spanish.
I am passionate about family law because I experienced the contentious divorce of my parents from a young age. As a result of that experience, I am able to view the issues my clients are experiencing from a unique perspective. I value the ability to guide my clients during a challenging time and provide a positive outcome that will allow them to enter the next chapter of their life in a better place.
I care deeply about every single case I handle. I recognize that clients are entrusting me with navigating what is likely the most difficult and emotional time of their lives, and I take that responsibility very seriously. Clients can rest assured that I will handle every issue in their matter with dedication and compassion as well as with creative and effective strategies.
Spanish was my first language and I speak it with native proficiency. As such, I am one of only a few family law attorneys who can represent Spanish-speaking individuals without need for interpretation. Moreover, I am attuned to the cultural nuances and sensitivities that may exist in a family law matter between Hispanic individuals, which affords me the ability to craft appropriate and effective legal strategies.
"Carolina Iglesias, Esq. far exceeded my expectations. Being new to needing counsel, I was nervous, but a friend recommended Carolina and it’s been a pleasure ever since we first spoke. She is extremely attentive, very knowledgeable and educated, professional, and kind. She really has your best interests at heart, and she does her homework to make sure all facts are in order. She never once missed a beat with my case, and we won! She fights for what’s right and what’s fair. She is easy to communicate with and has made this an experience with minimal stress due to her calming nature. I'd highly recommend Carolina to anyone looking for family law counsel."
