Experienced Family Law Paralegal

Are you a seasoned paralegal who’s a master at producing top-quality work product and a wizard at keeping your attorney on task and on schedule? Is one of your talents anticipating what your attorney needs before he or she even asks? Do you thrive on helping clients get through one of the most stressful times imaginable, while building relationships that will help generate future business?

If you have experience of managing a heavy case load, are someone who thrives on helping people to live their best lives, and is a total rock star at your job, then this is the perfect opportunity for you. We are Smedley Law Group, a relationship-focused, results-oriented, rapidly-growing family law practice located in Woodbury, NJ. We help individuals and families impacted by divorce and other family law issues throw out the status quo and use our expertise to focus on solutions that help them transform their lives.

We’re looking for an experienced paralegal to join our team as we expand the firm. The professional with the right fit will be able to draft all manner of family law pleadings with little oversight, work closely with clients to prepare and finalize Case Information Statements and responses to discovery requests, as well as other projects in an efficient manner. He or she will independently and effectively manage deadlines, and work with his or her attorney to ensure client matters are addressed as dictated by each matter’s needs, review and analyze documents, all while providing superior client service. The right candidate already knows what needs to be done to get the job done—if that’s you, we should talk.

However, to be clear, this is not an entry-level position. To be considered, you must have at least ten years’ experience, with the most recent experience in the field of family law. We are looking for someone who is not just good at what they do, but is great at what they do. You will be an integral part of our team, looking to go above and beyond, in furtherance of our firm mission and vision.

We offer a competitive rate of pay commensurate with experience, incentives, and paid time off. Interested candidates should email a resume with references to our Office Manager, Diane Pilla, at dpilla@smedleylawgroup.com. The email should tell us where you are currently, why you’re looking to make a change, what your current skillset is, how your skills can benefit Smedley Law Group’s clients, and what your salary expectations are. All inquiries will be kept in the strictest confidence; applications that don’t follow the above requirements won’t be considered.
